Stop Black Carbon
A woman in Kohlua cooks over a fire stove which generates one of the largest emissions in developing nations- Black carbon or soot. This pollutant has negative impacts on the health of villagers and the planet. Project Surya is working to provide over 20,000 rural Indian households with smoke-free cookers. Cookers are being distrubuted in India but cultural traditions and product failures have created obstacles standing in the way of the project’s success.
